Adler and Christianity

What was Adler's connection to Christianity? Though he was a Jew, I have heard that he became a liberal Christian at some point in his life.

What have people seen on the integration of Adlerian principles with/in christian counseling? I know Kevin Leman has done some work in this area. Anyone else?
