I enjoyed these ideas very much. In these difficult times we all need a good laugh, and I found much joy in the idea of lowering professional standards for therapists. Getting serious though, I believe that his idea of lowering the APA Code of Ethics standards for therapists is a good one. For animals, that is. In other words, I recommend that the author take his proposals and forward them to the American Veterinary Association, so that the new and emerging field of “Pet Therapy” will have a strong code of ethics to protect house pets, farm animals and residents of zoos, as well as laboratory animals who are unwilling participants in experiments conducted at universities and major corporations.
