It is true that there are people will lie save them selves shame and to protect there supposed prominent position. It is not true that the board will always believe that therapist. If this is being used as an excuse for not reporting a therapist who is questionable it is a poor excuse. You have no idea how many others have filed a grievance. A preponderance of complaints from a variety of sources becomes very convincing. Yes there are horrible therapists, lawyers, police officers, physicians, dentists, and so on. Each has a board to oversee them and those boards are imperfect. This is no reason to do away with any of the boards or professions. The horrible ones are in the minority. Most professionals are average and mediocre in their practice. There are also some that are clearly exceptional. For the most part these professions do more good than harm. For the most part boards want the profession to be of high caliber. What makes you assume that the majority of us are unaware of the imperfections in our profession and boards? Is it the fact that we continue to practice in spite of this knowledge? I can see some virtue in this how is it that you cannot?
