Question Literature review (Adler)

Hello!
I am new to this forum. The reason I joined is that I am doing a literature review/research paper on Adlerian Therapy for graduate school (Counselor Education). I have two fairly specific questions:

1) I found an article written by Roy Kern, Robert Yeakle and Len Sperry entitled "Survey of Contemporary Adlerian Clinical Practices and Therapy Issues" from the Journal of Individual Psychology, 1989. The article describes the results of a survey that was administered to Adlerian clinicians. The survey collected demographic information related to the clinicians as well as practice and application information. My question is, does anyone know of an updated survey having been completed since 1989?

2) My population focus is college students. I am having a hard time finding any literature pertaining to this population. There have been two articles in the Journal of Indivdual Psychology in the past year, but other than that I'm not finding much else. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for you help!

Kathleen

Kathleen, welcome to our forum.

To my knowledge, no Classical Adlerian clinicians were interviewed in that 1989 survey of contemporary Adlerian practice, nor have I heard of any updated surveys. I would also question the validity or relevance of any survey or research that does not distinguish between the "Dreikursian" and "Classical Adlerian" approaches.

What are the issues about college students that you would like to explore from an Adlerian perspective? If they relate to early interests and occupational choices, read Chapter 18, "General Life Problems," in The Individual Psychology of Alfred Adler, edited by Heinz and Rowena Ansbacher.
